to a useful product
Through our TextileWasteCycles™ circular economy model, we give suitable textile materials a second life through local manufacturing. Instead of viewing appropriate materials solely as waste, we explore how they can be transformed into useful products, including reusable menstrual products.
This approach connects two challenges that disproportionately affect underserved communities: the recurring cost of menstrual products, and the growing challenge of textile waste. But turning material into a quality menstrual product requires much more than sewing pieces of fabric together. It requires careful preparation, appropriate design, skilled workmanship and quality control.

Material preparation
Suitable materials are selected and prepared for production.
Measuring and cutting

The product is carefully finished to improve usability and presentation.

Finished products are inspected before they reach customers.
For Caryle, the bigger opportunity is building local capacity around the product. We have trained more than 100 women and youth through CircularSkills™ in practical reusable sanitary pad production — material preparation, cutting, sewing, assembly, finishing and quality control.
The objective is not simply to teach someone how to make a pad. It is to build practical skills and local production capacity that contribute to women's economic empowerment, youth livelihoods, menstrual health and circular economy development.
